Orthosiphon Stamineus (syn. Orthosyphon aristatus) is a perennial herb native to tropical Asia. It is known as Java Tea, and is widely cultivated in tropical areas to be used as an herbal tea or supplement. It is easily recognizable by its white or purple flowers that bear long stamens that resemble cat whiskers. In fact, it is knows as "kumis kucing" in Indonesia and "misai kucing" in Malaysia, which both translate to "Cat Whiskers" in English.
