Auction FAQ
What is proxy bidding? How do I set up automatic bids?
Proxy bidding allows you to set a maximum bid amount, and the system will automatically bid on your behalf until your maximum bid is exceeded. This allows you to step away from the auction without having to check back every time you are outbid. Proxy bidding is automatically enabled. All you have to do is enter your maximum bid and let the system do the rest for you.
Keep in mind that by placing a bid on an item, you are entering into a binding legal contract to pay for said item if you are the auction winner.
DO NOT SET A PROXY BID THAT IS HIGHER THAN WHAT YOU ARE ABLE TO PAY.
See the auction terms and conditions for more information.
Are there anti-sniping measures in place?
If a bid is placed on an auction within 1 minute of its close-time, the auction will be extended by an additional 1 minute to allow other bidders a chance to place a counter bid. The auction will be extended with every bid until bidding from all parties stops. This prevents what is knows as “sniping” — bids placed at the last second that are likely to exceed the current maximum bid and win the auction without giving others a chance.
How long do I have to pay for an auction?
Payments for won auctions must be made within seven days of the auction’s close. Failure to pay may result in suspension from participating in future auctions. If you are having any technical issues with payments please contact breann@stevesleaves.com for assistance.
When do auctions take place?
Auctions are currently held once a week and last for two days, Friday-Sunday. Auctions begin at 10am CT and end in five minute intervals beginning at 6pm CT.
Can I bid on multiple auction items?
You may participate in as many auctions as you like. If you win multiple items, you are required to pay for all of them in full within seven days. Keep in mind that if you bid on multiple of the same item you may end up winning both and will thus be required to pay for both items.
Do not bid on multiple items if you cannot or do not intend to pay for all of them.
What shipping charges apply?
