Begonia 'Steve's Leaves Texas Shield' is a striking new rhizomatous hybrid from Steve's Leaves. It has medium-large, oval-shaped, leaves that come to a point at the tip. The foliage is bronzy-green and is covered with small bubbles, each topped with a single hair. The back of the leaf is red and the leaf margin is lined with red hairs. This begonia has an open growth habit and has small, greenish, flowers which rise above the foliage. This cultivar will do well in bright light and a little extra humidity.

Interesting leaves

First I feel like this begonia looks very different in person , the leaves have an interesting texture a lot like the iron cross. Second, I have had mine for several months and it has been in ambient humidity in my dining room the whole time! The leaves are starting to get bigger and I’ve had no trouble with it at all. I love this begonia!
