Don't forget WSA!!!

We strongly recommend adding WSA if your local HIGH temperatures are below 55 degrees Fahrenheit in your location.

Begonia 'Pink Diamond' is a very nice rex cultivar hybridized by John Howell of San Antonio, Texas. John was an enthusiastic hobbyist who was breeding rex begonias for heat tolerance. It seems he was successful with this variety. The leaves are medium large, silver with a pinkish glow. It has a compact, full growth habit. When grown in the heat make sure it is watered well. Providing it with extra humidity will help it thrive, such as growing it near a garden pond or fountain. Like many rex hybrids, the colors in the leaves tend to vary depending on season. Colors tend to dull in the heat of summer but will become more vibrant again as the weather cools.

(Howell, TX. 1990s?)

Care of Begonia 'Pink Diamond':
Shade to partial shade, 55 to 100 degrees, allow getting slightly dry between watering.

Family: Begoniaceae

This plant is shipped in a 3 - 4 inch pot.

Steve's Leaves never disappoints

My step-father John Howell was an ardent gardener in San Antonio. Whenever Steve has some of his plant's great-grandbabies in stock, I am quick to scoop them up. My mother and sister loved getting these for Mother's Day. I just wish there were a few more! The babies arrived healthy and are beautiful!
