Euphorbia lactea, sometimes known as the Dragon Bone Spurge, is an upright shrub with a candelabra growth habit. It is cactus-like in appearance but not closely related to the cactaceae family. The succulent branches are three or four sided and lined with spines and small leaves. Like other members of Euphorbiaceae, this plant produces white latex sap that can irritate skin and should be handled with care.
