Cissus quinquangularis - the five angled cissus, is a succulent vining climber in the grape family. The thick stems are five sided when mature (sometimes three or four sided on juvenile plants). Along the edges of the stems where the sides meet is a velvety stripe that is gray to brown. When grown in full sun the growing tips of this plant will take on a striking reddish-purple hue.
