Begonia chlorosticta formerly known as B. chlorosticta (dark form) is one of the most exotic foliage begonias in cultivation. It is native to the lowland forests of Sarawak, Malaysia. The elliptic shaped leaves of this shrub-like begonia are burgundy to very dark green with chartreuse blotches and margins. The main veins near the point of petiole attachment are red. It has a shrubby growth habit and likes lots of humidity. It is usually grown in a terrarium but will do well in a humid greenhouse.

  • Bright, indirect light
  • 45 to 95 degrees
  • Humidity 60% or more- terrarium recommended
  • 10 to 12 in. tall
  • Water when top two inches of soil are dry
