This is the variegated form of a common turf grass in the south called St Augustine Grass. In Charleston, South Carolina they call it Charleston Grass. This grass has a broad blade that is striped with a white variegation. It spreads by stolons which are called runners and will spread and root or hang over a hanging container or the side of a pot. This grass is usually grown as a novelty and is a good conversation piece. It makes an attractive variegated ground cover.
