Odontonema strictum, also known as Firespike, is a flowering plant native to central and south America.

The plant has attractive, glossy, dark green leaves that are lance-shaped and arranged in opposite pairs along the stem. The leaves can grow up to 1 foot in length and 2.5 inches in width. The stem is woody, and can grow up to 3 meters tall.

The flowers of Odontonema are its most distinctive feature. They grow in dense, upright spikes that can be up to a foot long, and are made up of small, tubular flowers that range in color from deep red to pink. The flowers are attractive to hummingbirds, making it a popular choice for wildlife gardens.
