Malvaviscus penduliflorus (Sleeping Hibiscus)

Malvaviscus penduliflorus is a perennial evergreen shrub in the mallow family that is native to tropical regions of Mexico. Its common name comes from its pendulous flowers that resemble unopened, or "sleeping," hibiscus flowers. Lance shaped, slightly serrated leaves are covered in tiny hairs that give them a velvety feel.
