Begonia wadei is a thick-stemmed species from the island of Coron in The Philippines. This unique begonia grows in the cracks of the limestone rocks on the coast. The succulent leaves are light green with dark veins. It has a very thick stem and will grow up then curve over with age. It will usually drop some of its bottom leaves exposing the interesting texture of its thick stems. It tends to bloom spring, summer and fall with large clusters of bright pink flowers. This distinctive species will add special interest to your plant collection.
