Begonia U400 was introduced by Don Miller from the Penang Botanical Garden, Penang Island in Malaysia in 1990. U400 is a rhizomatous begonia and has large oval leaves. The leaves are silver with wide charcoal gray veins and leaf margin. There is a small red dot at the point of petiole attachment. It grows into a large full mound. It is a fast grower, and makes a handsome specimen plant.

Shade to partial sun, temp. 45 to 95 degrees, 10 to15 in. tall, allow getting slightly dry between waterings.
