Begonia ningmingensis var. bella dwells in the cliffs and crevices of the limestone regions of China. Leaves are round, textured and quite showy. They are dark green to black, sometimes with a purple hue. The dark color is offset by the shimmery silver-green veins and a striking scarlet reverse. This is a low profile begonia that grows in mounds close to the soil. Like many begonias it will thrive in dappled light conditions and high humidity, but it will not tolerate soggy soil. A terrarium or greenhouse is highly recommended for cultivation.
Care of Begonia ningmingensis var. bella:
Shade to partial shade, temp. 45 to 95 degrees, 5 to 10 in. tall. Allow surface of soil to dry between waterings.
This plant is shipped in a 3 inch pot.
