Begonia 'Cancun Seafoam' won "Best New Introduction by Commercial Grower" at the 2012 San Diego Show of the American Begonia Society. The leaf blades of this rhizomatous cultivar are bright green with light minty green in the fan-like area of petiole attachment and main veins. The leaf margin is ruffled and the red and white markings of the underside of the leaf margin bring back memories of seafoam on a sandy Cancun Beach. The leaf petioles have white hairs and small red markings. It has a compact growth habit. It brings a unique look to this hardy foliage begonia. Pink flowers can appear on stems above the foliage in late winter and early spring if the plant is growing in natural day lengths.
