Begonia bullatifolia is a rhizomatous species from Espirito Santo, Brazil. The kidney shaped leaves are covered with small raised areas called bulla. The front and back of the leaf is also covered with short fine hairs. The back of the leaf has so many hairs it looks woolly. The leaves are a muted grey green color. It has a thick succulent texture. This species likes extra humidity and is usually grown in a terrarium or humid greenhouse. The tiny flowers are white and appear in clusters above the foliage.
