Don't forget WSA!!!

We strongly recommend adding WSA if your local HIGH temperatures are below 55 degrees Fahrenheit in your location.

Martin Sands, of the Royal Botanic Garden in Kew, England, named this new species from Sabah, Borneo in 1990. Begonia amphioxus is an exotic begonia with a shrub-like growth habit. The leaves are lance shaped and pointed at both ends. The large maroon spots on the narrow green leaves give it an “other worldly” appearance. The flowers are green and have an unusual shape but not very showy. This species needs extra humidity and is usually grown in a terrarium; we highly recommend that an upgraded shipping method is selected to provide this begonia with the best opportunity in transit.

This plant needs special care and is not for the beginner. Due to the special growing conditions of this plant we only offer an arrive alive only guarantee and not our normal 30 days. This plant will drop many leaves in transit and within the few days following; this is normal behavior and should be expected. An expedited (Overnight or 2Day) is highly recommended for this extremely delicate Begonia.

Care of Begonia amphioxus:
Shade to partial shade, good under florescent lights, temp. 50 to 85 degrees, allow getting slightly dry between watering, likes extra humidity, does best in an enclosed container.

Family: Begoniaceae

This plant is shipped in a 3 inch pot.

Im always skeptical ordering plants online, but thats how ya get the good ones ;). I ordered 3 different plants which were all shipped together. They came packed very well and can tell they are cautious when packing. the quality of the plants were shocking as well. i havent even had any leaves drop and its been over 2 weeks.. and the plants still look great

Little Beauty

The begonia is just as beautiful as the pictures. Benn watching this plant for months hoping to catch it in stock. It was packed very well and only lost one leaf from through the shipping process. Just like all the plants from Steve, it arrived quickly after the shipping notification & arrived in great condition.

Incredible begonia

I live in the San Francisco Bay area and this plant is doing so well. It hasn't dropped as many leaves as I expected it to and has since perked up when watered from the bottom (soaking) with aquarium water and is putting out new leaves. It receives very bright indirect light with no direct sunlight. The window is usually open to allow good airflow and once a week I will spritz them with filtered water. If you can I totally recommend this fun small begon!
