Schlumbergera "Enigma" lives up to it's name in both origin and form. It is not known weather this strange cactus is hybrid or mutation and its unpredictably varying flowers only add to the air of mystery.
Stems are flat with toothed margins, somewhat like a typical schlumbergera, but thinner and much more elongated in shape. Areoles are present at the terminal ends of the stems, from which new stem segments and flowers emerge.
S. "Enigma" has been known to produce flowers of varying colors and sizes. To us, it has so far presented small pink flowers only a few millimeters in diameter. It has been reported to produce much larger petals, and sometimes a starburst of stamens with no petals at all.
Family: Cactaceae
Care:
- Bright, indirect light.
- Water when soil surface is dry. Do not allow soil to stay dry for long periods.
This plant is shipped in a 3.5 inch pot.
