Maranta leuconeura kershoveana is sometimes called, “Prayer plant” or “Rabbit Tracks”, this striking plant from the jungles of Brazil grows well in the average home, as long as the air is not to dry. The oval leaves are a medium green with gray green shading in the middle. There are two rows of chocolate blotches on each side, (which makes the rabbit tracks). This plant will trail or climb up a pole but is very slow to show its trailing habit. It likes bright light and slightly dry between watering. At night the leaves fold up as if it were praying.
