Don't forget WSA!!!

We strongly recommend adding WSA if your local HIGH temperatures are below 55 degrees Fahrenheit in your location.

Euphorbia tithymaloides 'Variegatus' is from the West Indies and Mexico. It was popular as a “pass along plant” because of it is ease of propagation from stem cuttings. Early houseplant growers would give “starts” of this plant to friends and relatives and it spread across the country as a popular houseplant. The stems are succulent and release a white, milky sap when broken. The leaves are green and highly variegated with white and pink. It is sometimes called “Zigzag Plant” or “Devils Backbone” because the stems grow in a zigzag pattern. It also gets another common name “Red Bird Plant” for its tiny red birdlike flowers. Very easy to grow and will tolerate abuse. Do not over water it.

Euphorbia tithymaloides 'Variegatus':
Sun to partial shade, temp. 40 to 100 degrees, 3 to 4 ft. tall, taller if staked, allow getting dry between waterings.

Family: Euphorbiaceae

This plant is shipped in a 3.5 - 4 inch pot.

Satisfied with the purchase

Order arrived quickly. Plant was healthy and undamaged, the correct species and cultivar, and a bit larger than I was expecting to receive.

New to me!

Received these in beautiful condition. They are strong, multi-stemmed, with no sign of shipping damage. Looking forward to growing this differently variegated type of " Devil's Backbone" and comparing it to my old favorite, also sold by Steve's Leaves.
