Begonia ‘Erythrophylla Helix’ This is a beautiful sport of the “Beefstake” or ‘Erythrophylla’. The dark green leaves have a wonderful helix or spiral at the point of petiole attachment. This gives the leaf a three dimensional quality. The back of the leaf is deep red. This rhizomatous cultivar has a full and mounding growth habit. The light pink flowers appear above the foliage in the late winter and early spring. It was introduced sometime in the 1950’s. It is quite easy to grow.
