Solandra maxima 'Variegata' has several common names, “Golden Chalice Vine”, "Hawaiian Lily" or “Cup of Gold “. This tropical vine is from Mexico, Central and South America. The leaves are large and oval shaped. This variegated form has olive-green leaves with a white margin. When the leaves are young they have pink in the margins. This is a fast growing woody vine. The large, six inch flowers are cup shaped. The petals are yellow with maroon stripes. A coconut fragrance comes from the flowers, especially at night. Grow as a landscape vine in tropical areas or in a greenhouse or conservatory.
