Hoya leucantha is a very highly sought-after species Hoya. It has a very dainty leaf shape and exhibits a "draping" growth pattern that is very popular at the moment. The leaves emerge a nice beautiful red color, harden off yellow, and then finish off a green. It was first collected by Cecil Boden Kloss in Indonesia, Papua Province, Utakwa River to Mt. Carstensz, at a canoe camp in 1912-1913. It was part of the Wollaston Expedition in Dutch New Guinea at a 500 ft elevation. It is presently known from three locations in Indonesia: West Papua Province, Utakwa River, and the bomberai Peninsula.
