Begonia 'Robert Golden' was hybridized by Brad Thompson and introduced in 2004. The female parent is B. 'Connee Boswell' ( a rhizomatous hybrid), and the male parent is an unnamed rex cultivar. It has short rhizomes on the soil surface with jointed stems that grow upright. The lobed leaves are silver with a dark edge. The leaf blade has green marking near the margin, and the dark veins in the center are lined with pink that fades out to silver.
