Begonia 'Irian Jaya' was found in the Indonesian part of West New Guinea (Irian Jaya). It was thought to be a species and given the species number U682. After consulting with Indonesian botanists it is now thought to be a hybrid.
This shrub-like begonia has a full growth habit and once established it blooms constantly with bright pink flowers. The silver leaves have olive green veins and a red reverse. It likes a little extra humidity and does very well in our greenhouse.
