Millar. The original collection was made in Wagau, Morobe Province, at an elevation of approximately 4,200 ft (1,280 m), where it was found growing high in a large tree within an old garden near a village.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYears later, botanist Nathalie Simonsson observed this species growing on a fallen tree along a narrow ridge in the primary rainforest near Bula, Morobe Province. Unfortunately, when the site was revisited in 2013, the ridge had been cleared and burned for slash-and-burn subsistence agriculture.
