Begonia 'Steve's Leaves Kindle' is an exciting new hybrid created by Darren Heppel at Steve’s Leaves. He pollinated B. melanobullata with B. ignita pollen. There was quite a bit of variation among the seedlings but after careful deliberation we selected this one for its striking coloring and texture.
The oval leaves are rippled like puffy clouds of silver, suspended on fuzzy red petioles and broken up by chocolate brown veins. The small flowers are red and hidden in the foliage. This small rhizomatous cultivar likes extra humidity as it trails over the soil surface. It is best to grow it in a terrarium or a humid greenhouse.
