Begonia 'Persian Brocade'
Begonia 'Persian Brocade' is an old standard, easy to grow, rhizomatous begonia. Dillard of Kansas hybridized it in 1961. It is a cross of B. bowerae and 'Maphil'. The medium sized, oval leaves are a bright green with chocolate brown markings along the leaf margin and the main veins. It has a full compact growth habit. The flowers are light pink and rise above the leaves. This one tolerates the heat well as long as it is in the shade.
