Z-1069 – Begonia amphioxus

Winning Bid: $126.00

The plant pictured here is the exact plant you will receive

Martin Sands, of the Royal Botanic Garden in Kew, England, named this new species from Sabah, Borneo in 1990. Begonia amphioxus is an exotic begonia with a shrub-like growth habit. The leaves are lance shaped and pointed at both ends. The large maroon spots on the narrow green leaves give it an “other worldly” appearance. The flowers are green and have an unusual shape but not very showy. This species needs extra humidity and is usually grown in a terrarium.

***NOTE*** This plant needs special care and is not for the beginner. Due to the special growing conditions of this plant we only offer an arrive alive guarantee and not our normal 30 days. This plant will drop some leaves in transit, this is normal behavior.

Care of Begonia amphioxus

Shade to partial shade, good under florescent lights, temp. 50 to 85 degrees, allow getting slightly dry between watering, likes extra humidity, does best in an enclosed container.

Family: Begoniaceae
