This is a primitive cactus that has not evolved to lose its leaves. This true cactus has beautiful golden leaves with a green center. When young the waxy leaves have a pinkish tint to them. The growth habit is vining and can grow to 25ft in length. It is a native to the West Indies and is sometimes called “Barbados Gooseberry” or “Lemon Vine”. The flowers are white and it has an edible fruit. This plant makes a beautiful hanging basket. It will grow in sun to partial shade and allow it to get dry between waterings

Shade to partial sun, temp. 45 to 100 degrees, vine to 20ft. allow getting fairly dry between watering.

    I got 2 of these a while ago. I couldn’t believe they are even related to a cactus! They are so pretty, they have their own unusual look to them! I just repotted them into a hanging planter, because they really vine!, and ouch! Yes they are cactus! They have thorns under that beautiful pink yellow and green foliage. I still love them! And I’m so glad I waited for them to get back in stock.
