Muehlenbeckia complexa is native to New Zealand. Some common names for this trailing plant are “Wire Vine”, “Maidenhair Vine” and “Angel Vine”. The leaves are small oval and dark green. It will grow as a groundcover or up a trellis. They are spaced on the black wire like stems. The cream colored flowers appear in spring and early summer. This is a great plant for topiary frames or plant it in the garden as groundcover. It will survive 10 to 15 degrees. It will die down and come back from the roots.
Sun to partial shade, temp. 15 to 95 degrees, it will mound up to 15 to 18in. or grow 10 to 15 feet on a trellis or support.
