Begonia ‘Tiny Gem’ is a fabulous miniature trailing begonia. It won best new introduction and Hybrid of Distinction in The American Begonia Society’s 1978 show. It was created by the great lily and begonia hybridizer Leslie Woodriff of Mc Kinleyville, Ca. It is a cross of B. ‘Tiny Orange Rubra’ and B. solananthera (now B. integerrima) The small leaves are a bright apple green. The flowers hang in large clusters from the stems most of the year. It makes a graceful small hanging basket or will make a stunning large hanging basket or you can just let it hang over a tall pot.
Shade to partial shade, temp, 45 to 95 degrees, trails to 18 to 24ins. allow getting slightly dry between watering
