Beautiful plant! The leaves are a dark greenish-black when viewed normally and the red stems have soft spikes. It’s a very intimidating looking plant. It can be difficult to view the blue iridescence at first, but what I do is shine my phone flashlight on the leaves and then shine at different angles until I can see the blue. It’s fascinating! The plant has put out three huge leaves in the few months that I’ve had it. I keep mine in a fairly shaded part of my house and water once or twice a week, depending on how the plant is looking. Leaves will droop and turn crispy brown on the tips if thirsty. Love love love this plant! Thank you Steve’s Leaves!

This is a very beautiful plant. It arrived with huge leaves that got slightly crumpled during shipping, but they flattened out nicely after a few days. It’s already grown four more leaves, with several more about to unfurl. It stands remarkably upright, and with the large dark leaves it makes an impressive specimen. It’s difficult to see the blue flash without a phone light or something, but that doesn’t reduce the beauty of the plant. I’m very happy with it

Beautiful plant. It lost two leaves right after transport but then grew six more. It’s a very rewarding plant. It even bloomed recently and the small pink flowers have a nice contrast to the dark leaves. The blue is only visible with a very bright light at certain angles but the dark green is beautiful on its own. The leaves are very large and the stems are very thick. I’d buy more if they weren’t so rare.

Gorgeous plant! It arrived with zero damage which is a miracle because the leaves are huge and I live across the country (and it’s full-on winter here). I have ordered many, many plants from Steve’s Leaves and other online vendors just do not compare to the quality of their packing and shipping, amazing customer care and communication and of course, consistently beautiful and healthy plants. I had two separate orders placed about a week apart and Kim, their wonderful customer service specialist, emailed me letting me know they were holding the plants until the freezing temperatures where I live subsided and that they were going to combine the two orders into one shipment and credit me for one of the shipping costs. They are the best!
