Begonia ‘Mayan Princess’ is one of our newest rhizomatous hybrids. It was introduced at the American Begonia Society show in San Diego in August, 2012. It has a small to medium spiral leaf that is black on the upper surface and red on the back. Some leaves will have a double spiral. The leaf margin is wavey and has an eyelash of white hairs along the leaf margin. It has a compact growth habit and is perfect for a small pot on the windowsill. Under certain light conditions it has lime green veins that run through the leaf blade.
