Begonia “Logee’s Lalomie” this is a lovely rex cultivar which has been circulating as Begonia ‘Lalomie’. But Begonia ‘Lalomie’ is a rex cultivar hybridized by Mabel Corwin in the mid 1980’s. This is not Mabel’s ‘Lalomie’. This is a Logee hybrid and I am going to call it ‘Logee’s Lalomie’. It is too beautiful not to grow. The large leaves are silver with a blush of pink. there is more pink on the leaf margins and near the center of the leaf. The leaf margin is lobed and at the apex and along the margin are many long tapering points. This is really gorgeous. You must grow this one. At one time we called it “New Lalomie”. Like many rex hybrids, the colors in the leaves tend to vary depending on season. Colors tend to dull in the heat of summer but will become more vibrant again as the weather cools.
Shade to partial shade, temp. 50 to 95 degrees, 12 to 15in. tall, allow getting fairly dry between watering
